Make sure that your ebike has been tested for riding in the rain (not all models are), then just follow a few simple tips and you can ride your electric bike safely even in the rain, without risking water damage. Here is a list of what to keep in mind when riding your ebike in the rain.<\/p>\n

Do not cross deep water<\/h3>\n

It is not recommended to ride through puddles or ride where the water is deep with either an electric or a muscle bike, however, if you still want to ride through a puddle to have fun with the kids and splash some water (hopefully you at least have mudguards) it is better to switch off the electric system and continue cycling without power.<\/p>\n

Of course, if you unintentionally happen to cross a puddle afterwards, you cannot know whether or not water has entered the engine<\/em> or in thebattery housing<\/em>In this case, it is recommended not to switch the power on again until you are sure that the sensitive parts are dry, thus avoiding a short circuit.<\/p>\n

For longer journeys in the rain, the best solution is to protect the battery<\/em> and the display<\/em>, the electrical components that are most sensitive to moisture, with appropriate covers. It is also good to prevent the electric bike from getting wet if it is parked outdoors.<\/p>\n

You can never be too careful, especially when riding in the wet. The asphalt is more slippery when it rains, visibility is also affected by the intensity of the rain, and you may find unexpected objects obstructing your peaceful pedalling.<\/p>\n
