There is finally clarity on the €500 bonus.

The government gives a definitive answer: you can get a €500 bonus by buying bicycles or another type of vehicle, e.g. electric scooters, segways, hoverboards and monowheels.

 

Who can claim the bonus?

Over 18s resident in regional capitals or provinces with a population of more than 50,000 and who purchased their vehicle on or after 4 May.

The bonus is only paid once for a single purchase!

Clearly, the main purpose of the bonus is to decrease Covid-19 contagions by avoiding public transport, which has been declared a high-risk place for contagion.

The Decree describes how to obtain reimbursement. Attention: not everyone can have it!

We must remember that the bonus has an expiry date: from 4 May 2020 until 31 December 2020! And it cannot be requested more than once.

The claim for the bonus will be processed via a web platform and routed for reimbursement. The platform can be found on the website of the Ministry of the Environment.

In any case, the web application is currently not available. It will be added online no later than 60 days after the publication of the decree. So it will be possible to apply towards the end of July.

There are two possible ways to claim the €500 bonus for functional bikes:

• Like a refund. In this case, it will be sufficient to keep the invoice. When the platform is ready to receive bonus requests, you will have to enter the purchase document data and your Spid credentials.
• As a digital shopping voucher. You will have to wait until the platform is active. Once you enter the platform, you will have to register the model of the bike you purchased. A digital shopping voucher will be generated on the platform that can be spent by authorised suppliers.

As you can see, you can now buy the functional bike at a wonderful discount of 500€.

Finally, more people will be able to buy the bike of their choice. And not only that! Together we can achieve an important goal: the less we use public transport and personal cars - the less we pollute the environment.
