Let's start with a comparison of the Brompton folding bike and the Ahooga folding bike.

1. Style. Ahooga has it in spades, while the British are known for their eccentric style.

   

2. Brand. The legendary Brompton is a folding bike that has made history. The Ahooga is a young, but very dynamic brand. It has everything you need to mark a milestone in history.
3. Diamond frame. Unlike many classic bicycles, folding bikes do not have a load-bearing triangle. This is due to the fact that they are almost always closed by a hinge that breaks the frame in two. On the other hand, it is well known that the triangle is the most stable figure there is, and the triangle frame gives the bike more stability during the ride. The Ahooga is the only folding bike with a diamond triangle. That's because it's the only one that has managed to find the solution to being folded differently. Not even the Brompton has managed to do that.
4. Ugly zip. In fact, as has already been explained above, folding bikes, so does the Brompton, use it for their locking system. But the Ahooga has invented a truly ingenious and unique locking system. This has allowed it to look much better, but above all riding the Ahooga is to all intents and purposes like riding a nice full-sized bike. It doesn't give you the feeling of being on a folding bike until you get off and fold it.
5. Bending. Both bikes fold easily in just 10 seconds. The Brompton folds via the hinge, breaking the frame in the middle, while the Ahooga folds around the frame. 1 point in favour of the Ahooga, a simple movement is all it takes for the bike to reduce 1/3 of its footprint so it can be elegantly pushed forward.
6. Dimensions. 153 cm, with the wheelbase 105 cm. Both. But Ahooga has an extra-long seatpost as an option for people taller than 185 cm and up to 205 cm.
7. Dimensions when folded. One point in Brompton's favour, it is more compact when folded, 58.5 x 56.5 x 27 cm, compared to 85x74x30 cm for Ahooga. But let's face it, the Ahooga occupies the size of a small cabin trolley when folded, what is more important, a few centimetres less when folded or the feeling of stability and comfort for a better ride?

   

8. Wheels. 20″ for Ahooga VS 16″ for Brompton. What do they affect? First of all on stability and comfort while riding. 20″ tyres have a better ratio between stability and comfort and make the bike more suitable not only for urban routes but also for cycle touring.
9. Weight. The Ahooga folding bikes weigh 10 kg. While in the Brompton the weight varies depending on the model and ranges from 11 to 14 kg. Speaking of the electric, the Ahooga weighs only 13 kg while the electric Brompton weighs 19 kg.

   

10. Number of reports. All Ahooga models have 7 gears. The number of gears in the Brompton changes depending on the model and ranges from 1 to a maximum of 6.
11. Material. Standard Brompton models are made of steel. The 9 kg version, on the other hand, is made of titanium. Obviously, the price is no longer in line with Ahooga. All Ahooga models are strictly aluminium. This makes it both lighter but also more resistant against the weather and saltiness.

    

12. European Passport. So, the UK is no longer part of the EC. Ahooga, on the other hand, is a Belgian brand and is produced entirely in Europe.
13. Equipment. In Brompton, mudguards and many other accessories, as well as sturdy wheels, are a separate accessory. Ahooga has many accessories as standard. It already has the nice strong wheels to carry it without having to lift it. It has shock absorbers. 14. Tyres. Schwalbe for both, - both the Ahooga and the Brompton have the best tyres.
15. Open economy. While Brompton, boasts of using almost the 80% out of its 1,200 unique, in-house built components, Ahooga, in keeping with its own philosophy makes all its components readily available. No fear then of not finding a spare part for your beloved folding bike in a few years' time!
16. No to planned obsolescence.
