By the way, we are in a period when change is inevitable, whether we want it or not. It is not in our power to stop it, but it is in our power to give it the right direction!
There are more and more studies showing that COVID-19 is more lethal in more polluted areas. In fact, as has been speculated previously, it has been confirmed that there is a strong connection between air quality and the lethality of the coronavirus.
The proportions are crazy, just the increase of 1 μg/m3 of PM2.5 increases mortality due to 15%!!!
This is what emerges from the Harvard University study that also involves an Italian researcher, Francesca Dominici as co-director of Harvard Data Science.
But this is nothing new!
Back in 2003, a similar study on the causes of mortality during the SARS epidemic in China was conducted by the University of California, Los Angeles, Fielding School of Public Health with very similar results.
Clean air is a public good and concerns each and every one of us! We can all make a difference!
